It’s November and here in the Western Cape we can all start to feel the sweltering Summer approaching. My Garden has been in full swing for nearly 11 months now and just look at it…it’s blooming!
There’s no doubt that it’s going to be a great summer, filled with braai’s and lazy Saturdays spent lounging around the pool, but what better way to celebrate the great outdoors this Summer than in your own veggie garden! So this is my challenge to everyone with even the tiniest little garden: get off the couch, head down to your local nursery, replace that TV remote with a spade and turn your garden into a veggie patch! It’s a great way to spend these gorgeous Summer evenings and to boot, it will feed you and your family with the best tasting greens that you can imagine!
I must admit that I have cocked up the tomatoes and I’m still having to buy those from the supermarket, but other than that I’m getting all my fresh produce from the garden and I will get those tomatoes right! I’ve got five different varieties in store – from cherry tomatoes to oxhearts, so keep your eyes on this space for those picture…as soon as I get them right!
Growing your own fresh produce is the 0nly way in my opinion so you have to try it this Summer and I promise that you will taste the difference! Happy growing!
